Never posted this.. so give me a late pass on this one. This is for those who have yet to hear this latest EP release by the Boulder group, Robotic Pirate Monkey. RPM’s formula on remixes is simple: take your favorite songs and give them that extra bass and glitch sound to them. The formula worked and they have gained quite the following since the release of their debut album Disturbing Pleasant Streets EP last year. Some of the highlights off this EP include their remix of Foreigner’s “Jukebox Hero”, Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion” and Smashing Pumpkins’s “Disarm”.

As a bonus, here is a RPM original that they leaked on Soundcloud a month ago titled “Doo-Hop”. I presume this will be off their upcoming album due out in May.

The Boulder DJ trio, Robotic Pirate Monkey, recently released a couple new remixes, one of The Expendables’ “Sacrifice” and one of Lily Allen’s “Smile”. I am not a huge fan of the Lil Allen remix. It is more a wobbly version of the original. The Expendables remix is way dope. RPM definitely does their thing with the track and give it their own personal touch. It would probably take some considerable talent to ruin a song as awesome as “Sacrifice”. Enjoy and be sure to become a fan of RPM on Facebook.

Robotic Pirate Monkey is composed of three fellow Boulderites Matt Berryhill, Matt Flesher and Andrew Hathaway. You may remember me posting their remix of Jordan Corey’s “Breaking All The Rules” or their remixes of Modest Mouse and Trouble Andrew. If you like those, I have some good news for you. They just recently released their debut EP for FREE. It includes four brand new originals and six remixes that you may or may not have heard before. The whole album is sick but the four below are my favorites excluding the songs that have been previously posted. Enjoy and if you dig the album, spread the word about Robotic Pirate Monkey by liking them on Facebook and suggesting them to your friends!

Here are two dope remixes from fellow Boulderites Robotic Pirate Monkey. The first one is a remix of Modest Mouse’s “I Came As A Rat,” which unfortunately is not available for download but is sick nonetheless. Never thought I’d hear a electronic remix of Modest Mouse.. The second is a dope remix of Trouble Andrew’s “Take It To The Top” from his Trouble Gang mixtape, which is available for download. If you like what you hear, be sure to check out more of Robotic Pirate Monkey’s music on their SoundCloud.
