First there was Jared Evan’s cover of Kanye West’s “All of the Lights” and then there was his cover of The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby.” Both great covers from an artist that will likely be covered by other artists in the near future.
If you have been enjoying Jared’s way of covering songs than you should be excited to know that he has a brand new mixtape titled unCOVERED that is due out in the coming months if not sooner. I love that he is not only producing the backing instrumental himself but also changes the lyrics of the songs slightly to fit him better.
This cover of La Roux’s “Bulletproof” is one of my favorites so far. I have heard way too many remixes of “Bulletproof” but not that many covers and Jared Evan executes it perfectly.
Covering a classic is always a risky move but Jared was up to the challenge with his cover of Wu-Tang’s “Ice Cream.” His cover has a completely different feel from the original and is truly an interesting take on the classic. This song has been tearing up the internet for the last couple of days, and I can see why. Chromeo + Elly Jackson (of La Roux) = Great. (Chromeo + Elly Jackson) x Duck Sauce = Great Sauce. Ever since “Barbara Streisand” back in October, Duck Sauce has been catapulted into the spotlight. Check out their most recent work below.

What? You thought there was already too many La Roux “In for the Kill” remixes? Not if Doctor Rosen Rosen wants to add his darker pop sound to the song. This is one of the best “In for the Kill” remixes I have heard since Skream’s epic dubstep remix of the song. Unfortunately, the song is for stream only as it is one of the official remixes of the song. I am sure you will be able to purchase it on iTunes or Amazon in the near future. Definitely check this out!

It’s finally here, the long awaited La Roux & Chromeo collaboration. It sure took long enough, didn’t it? Especially considering that the two were tweeting about it back in July. This marks a rare appearance for Elly Jackson outside of her duo La Roux. I sure hope they continue to collaborate in the future because they sound incredible together. Until then, enjoy this amazing redux. This will be featured on the single release of “Hot Mess” along with remixes from Tiga and Duck Sauce.

I wasn’t expecting this to be released so soon. I first heard of the collaboration not even a week ago! La Roux’s hit song in the U.K. and Europe is about to get even bigger over on this side of the Atlantic with Yeezy jumping on the track. The beat is slightly altered and the Kanye provides a new verse for the song. I am still waiting for that supposed Chromeo collaboration..
I know you all loved the song. Now, here is a video for the mashup to make the song just that much better. I actually feel like the music video for “In For The Kill” fits better with this version of the song than the original. Expect another video remix tomorrow since I have been slacking on those lately.

Back in 2009, 607 rocked the blogosphere for a bit then dropped out of the scene. I wasn’t there, but I heard about it. Well he apparently has resurfaced and teamed up with his brother Bobby (or Morbid) to create the new group earFear. I have to give them mad props for rapping over this track. As everyone knows, I love Nacey and his remix of “Bulletproof” that was on Lazerproof. I always love featuring tracks that blend rap and great remixes.

First of all, sorry for my lack of posts lately, I have been all over the damn country for the last week and a half. But it looks like I came back at just the right time because this hot little track was waiting! I don’t think either of these artists need an introduction, everyone has heard Skream’s epic dubstep remix of La Roux’s “In for the Kill.” It was a little bit before this site’s time, so I’ll throw it up below. Anyway, Skream’s upcoming album Outside the Box is scheduled for release in early August and is sure to be unreal. Sadly, this will be the only La Roux/Skream collab on it. The track is more laid back but delivers with great vocals from La Roux and the wonderful eerie rolling backdrop we’ve come to expect from Skream. Go pre-order Outside the Box now!
