Nickelodeon is bringing back all of the unbelievably cool shows from the 1990′s that I grew up on. And if I know a damn thing about demographic analytics, they are probably the same ones you grew up on as well.
Beginning this Monday, the shows will air between midnight and 4am on Teen Nick. The programming block will be called “The 90′s Are All That” and include Hey Arnold!, Kenan & Kel, Rocko’s Modern Life, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, All That, and much much more. Here’s my prediction:
These shows were dope back in the day, but now that we are adults and have grown culturally to find vulgar humor more appealing, we won’t be as drawn to these shows. It’s hilarious that they are positioning this as an adult programming block, as you can see from the scheduling for the block and the sex reference in the promo vid below. In a place where we can watch Adult Swim and Comedy Central when we are hammered eating pizza during wee hours of Sunday morning, I think Kenan Thompson’s lovableness might just not cut it.
I will definitely watch this once or twice for nostalgia’s sake, but I would prefer that my little sister watches it instead of all the Disney crap kids are into these days. #Isoundreallyfuckingold
Watch: The 90′s Are All That (Promo Video)
Filming for Season 6 of Dexter just recently began a few days on May 25th. The premiere titled “Those Kinds of Things” and will be the start of a season that promises to return to the Dexter you have seen in the early seasons. I honestly can’t wait.
Dexter returns and nothing can prepare you for what comes next. This fall, hell breaks loose.
