Seer (of Smokey Robotic) is soon to be releasing a new solo project entitled wOO, the overdose tape, a fourteen track album featuring production from !llmind, Konrad Old Money and Uncle Fig. The just released “hOney knives” is the first single off the project and is quite an emotional one as Seer describes below..

“‘hOney knives’ is a love song from my soul to my brain. my whole life i have felt blessed and cursed by dreams and have spent the duration of my conscious existence allowing my imagination to dominate my reality. ‘hOney knives’ is my soul begging my brain to release it from it’s delicious grasp and to use it’s razor sharp abilities to conjure up a metaphorical knife that will slice my soul free once and for all. the song was produced by my brother !llmind and is the most personal record on the album.” – Seer

Holy heavy remix Batman!

The original “Gobstopper” wasn’t really that great of a track, but, it BEGGED for a heavy dub remix. Well, lucky for us, Figure just delivered that remix, and delivered it in an epic fashion. Take a listen and judge for yourself.

You can get this song and more on the recently released (and free) Reckless Wobbles mixtape hosted by DJ E-V and Benzi.

DJ Fergie Ferg sent this over a day or so ago, and in the heat of the first week of school, it took me a moment to get it up. I’m kicking myself for it now, because this is really a great mashup; sounds very natural. Tracks featured are:

Wale – Lotus Flower Bomb Feat. Miguel
Washed Out – New Theory (RAC Mix)
Birdy – District Sleeps Alone Tonight
John Lennon – Imagine

Great artwork too.

Silver Medallion enlists Dunson (formerly known as Kenton Dunson) on his latest single “Trainwreck”. The song is hybrid of R&B and Dubstep that is sure to turn heads. Read what Silver Medallion had to say about the song below.

“Trainwreck is a saga of New York City bars, a story of people too in love with themselves to see past the whiskey glasses. I feel the sounds of the beat replicate the darkness and intensity of that yearning party night, when you’re looking in a girls eyes and don’t see anything there, when you’re walkin in the cold spinning drunk, when you wake up wondering why you’re life is the way it is.” – Silver Medallion

This past Friday I got a visit from some Michigan family and we decided to hit up downtown San Jose for a few hours before heading out on a road trip the next morning. Which, as it turns out, was a good decision because we stumbled on to a hip-hop show and got to see a dope mini-performance from IQ.

After a dismal (tho to be fair, dude was having sound issues) performance from the first act of the night and a lulling crowd, we weren’t excepting much and we were ready to bail if the next act was more of the same. But it was clear as soon as IQ hoped on the mic that he was a natural at this hip-hop thing. As soon as he the DJ dropped the beat and IQ started to flow, heads turned back to the stage and bodies started to flock away from the bar. It was like IQ’s voice had some sort of exponential effect on the mic’s gravitational pull. The kinda thing that when you see live you think to yourself “this is something special.”

Sure, it probably helped that the crowd had an extra long break to down a few more drinks, but the dude’s skills speak for themselves. After I got back to the city from a nice little nature excursion in Yosemite, I hit the internets and found that IQ had just released a new video, which also happens to be dope. So without further typing, I present IQ’s music video for “See Fore” ft. Ghambit.

If you like dope beats, smooth flows, positive vibes and some old school style hip-hop knowledge then there’s about a 0% chance that you’ll be disappointed with this guy. And if you’re interested, check out this clip from the end of his live performance last Friday. There should also be a free project hitting the net soon, which I’ll be sure to check out.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, the track is no longer available for download due to copyright claims. Drake gets the final laugh.

To give you a little history, Common dissed Drake on the track “Sweet” off of his recently released album, The Dreamer/The Believer. Although Common’s diss was somewhat vague, Drake fired back with a more pointed diss on “Stay Schemin”, which was on Rick Ross’s recently released mixtape Rich Forever. Naturally, Common ran straight to the studio and remixed “Stay Schemin”.

In addition to adding a harsh verse dissing Drake, Common changed the album artwork (seen above) to replace Drake’s name with some choice words, added in some Destiny’s Child, and left Drake’s verse on the track to make him sound like a fool.

Love it.

Although it’s not the best track on Mac Miller‘s recent Blue Slide Park, it’s a new Mac video nonetheless.

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted something from any of the members of the Odd Future crew, not because I have an issue with them, but because I’ve been in an EDM cave because of the New Year.

Domo Genesis does Tupac’s “Temptations” solid justice on this one. This won’t be on his upcoming project No Idols, however.
