Tupac ain’t back but Shark Week is. The latest in PropaneLV’s Sunday Wrap-Up series celebrates this fact. Shark Week’s back and PropaneLV is pretty damn excited about it. Are you as excited as he is? Come on.. admit that you are.
What do you get when you combine a Serbian, a German, and an Australian? No, not the “Small World” ride at Disney World, but in fact, an epic electronic track.
Thomas Gold, whom is currently on fire, teamed up with Dirty South and the stunningly gorgeous Kate Elsworth to churn out this piece. For me, Elsworth’s vocals really pull it together. I find nothing more evocative than a heavy beat complimented by eerie female vocals.
Video editing and making cheap videos from other sources seems to be catching on. For example, check out this official yet unofficial music video for Flight Facilities’ second single “Foreign Language” that features footage taken from the Roller Boogie movie. I think a trend is beginning to take foot. What do you think?

I really hate the original “Last Friday Night” by Katy Perry. It just seems like something made for teenage girls (well, it is) but this remix from Viceroy is sick. The album artwork alone makes this track worth posting as well.
Mighty Mouse might be a singer to look out for. I am loving the vocals on this track but it is Edwin van Cleef’s amazing production that truly makes this track stand out. He never fails to make a great song.
One of my favorite Pop producers, Doctor Rosen Rosen, recently announced a new series of EPs titled Girls that will feature four original collaborations between himself and a different guest vocalist on each track. The first volume of the series is due out August 15th and will feature Jessie & The Toy Boys, Kay, Anjulie, and Meg. Below is the first leak off the EP titled “Five O’Clock” featuring Jessie & The Toy Boys. Check out what Doctor Rosen Rosen had to say about the track below.
“Around that time, I was listening to a lot of the 80s girls groups that were produced by Prince (Vanity 6, Sheila E, Appolonia), which inspired the punchy Linndrum-sample-heavy beat of the song. A day before our session, I started the track and came up with the pre-chorus “Hello Hello Hello.” I was nervous to show her the idea because she was one of the first artists I worked with in Los Angeles, but she was in to it and we quickly wrote the rest of the song together. One of the things I love about working with Jessie, is that her lyrics always engaging and paint a vivid story… in this case “you’ve got till five o’clock to get your shit out.” – Doctor Rosen Rosen
Mr. J Medeiros’ Saudade is out now (listen to it in full here) and if you have yet to purchase your copy I recommend you do so. It is one of the best albums to come out this year.
If Saudade isn’t enough Mr. J for you, there are three tracks that didn’t make the cut on the album that he will be releasing for free in the coming months. “Old Man Perez” is the first of the bunch and is truly a masterpiece. It is just plain good music.
“This song is one of three tracks that didn’t make the “Saudade” album, mostly because of time. In hindsight I wish they all made the album, but here we are. Singing, rapping, and producing, (with my team “The Stare”) this was one of my favorite tracks to record- by the way that’s Stro on the “Oohs and Ahhs” word!” – Mr. J Medeiros
“Lie Down In Darkness”, which was featured on Moby‘s recent and long-awaited album release titled Destroyed, just got the royal remix treatment from Mr. Arno Cost.
At first, I was worried Arno would overpower the eerie and gorgeous production for which Moby is so well known. However, as should be expected, he did an epic job raising the song’s energy while preserving its core elements.
Seeing as ‘Ye and Jay pretty much failed on “Otis”, someone had to step up to the plate. That someone was Skyzoo, seeing as he is the f***ing man and all.
Truthfully, from a production standpoint, “Otis” didn’t really lend itself to the “Watch The Throne” duo. Skyzoo’s flow and style is much better suited to such a creative beat. As well, the freestyle is the first installment in a series which Sky is calling The Penny Freestyle Series, named after 90′s baller Penny Hardaway.
