Tyler, The Creator – Analog Feat. Hodgy Beats

by on May 4, 2011

Honestly, I couldn’t give two s**ts about Tyler, The Creator. Shock rap has no lasting value and I guarantee you this time next year not nearly as many as people will care about him. I don’t how many times hearing him say he is going kill or rape someone will interest you but it got old for me after only one listen. Furthermore, half the time his songs are more boring than classical music and the subject matter he raps about is just pointless blabber that no one can actually relate to.

Despite my feelings towards his music, I gave his album Goblin a listen due to everyone clamoring about it. The standout tracks include the previously released “Yonkers” and “Tron Cat.” Beyond that, there is not much to look forward to. Besides a few lines here and there that made me chuckle, the only other track I enjoyed was “Analog” featuring Hodgy Beats. “Analog” has the feel of a twisted summer time song. Not exactly the type of song to chill at the beach sipping a tropical drink to. Instead, it would fit the soundtrack of the next horror movie telling the story of a group of unsuspecting college students who decide to spend a few weeks of their summer at a creepy lake (to an unfortunate end).
