TAI recently released his Big Bassdrum EP and oh man, is it dope. “Big Bassdrum” on its own is a sick enough track, but add the three additional remixes that the EP sports, and the track becomes unstoppable. However, the original takes the cake for me, with Bart B‘s remix at a close second.

The music video for “Big Bassdrum” which came out earlier this month is also worth a watch. Very, very funny/horrifying stuff.

Well, my Monday morning has had quite an odd start. I base that description solely on the emotions I am feeling after watching this video. Only about ten minutes ago, the official video for Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” was released on the web. For those of you who don’t know, “Born This Way” is the title track from Lady Gaga’s forthcoming sophomore album, also titled Born This Way.

The video really left me speechless. I will summarize it as a depiction of an intergalactic battle between good and evil full of many mucus-filled and graphic birthing scenes between oiled mud orgies; and there are machine guns. You can also spot some of the fashion (or at least make-up) that was featured on the Thierry Mugler website back around the time that “Scheiße” dropped.

Born This Way will drop on May 22nd.

I only pray that you have already gone through at least 3 different speaker systems (subsequently destroying each) ever since you first saw our post for “Zero 76″ a while back. In case you haven’t, you can destroy your computer screen now as well because here is the official music video filmed at the Stereosonic festival in 2010. I am yet to find a better house track than this for 2011.

Note: The music video does not contain the full, sheerly-epic version of the song. Check our previous post for that.

High-five Mike.

That’s pretty much how I would summarize Mike’s new cover. No artist, let alone Mike Posner, would be considered sane in attempting to cover Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep.” She really has one of the most unique and powerful voices around. Not to mention that Mike Posner’s vocal style is literally the polar opposite of her powerhouse pipes. Nonetheless, this song turned out REALLY cool. Totally different of course, but awesome in its own right.

Mike’s quiet vocals and great pop production come together to make this one of the best covers I’ve heard in a bit. At least since The Five One’s Wiz Khalifa cover from last week which is still driving RTV fans wild.

I also stumbled upon this gem of a remix last night. Awesome awesome awesome. It came out like a month ago; I’m sad it took me so long to hear it. The synthy production that Johnny Lawson throws down goes great with Mike’s sound.

Here’s the chilled out Sunday jam I promised you guys. It’s a remix of Labyrinth Ear‘s track “Snow White,” which was featured on their Oak EP which dropped last year. You can grab the whole EP for FREE here as well. I encourage you to have a listen.

Fun fact: “Snow White” is actually Labyrinth Ear’s take on the “I’m Wishing” song from Disney’s Snow White film. If you don’t believe me, watch this. All else aside, Dreamtrak did a great job making this track even more dreamy (no pun intended) than it previously was. Hopefully this makes your transition back to the work week a little more tolerable.

In this morning’s music listening rampage, I came across the work of Connor Walden, AKA Captured By Kings. Walden is an 18 year-old producer from LA and actually has decent amount of tracks spread about the web. I suggest checking out his Soundcloud (link above) to get a good taste of his style; it’s pretty dope. For now, here a couple of my favs, including his newest release, “Yellow-Head”, a dope take on a Bassnectar classic.

You can download the tracks for free by clicking the little downward arrow on the right side of the music player.

Donald Glover, AKA Childish Gambino just dropped the music video for his recently released track “Freaks and Geeks.” The track itself is as awesome on it’s own, but it’s always nice to have a little bit of visualization. Since you’re watching the video, take a moment to absorb the lyrics on this track, they are hilarious.

Moby was probably the first artist to spark my interest in electronic music years and years ago. To this day, I still listen to just about all his albums, my favorites being Play & Play: B Sides, Wait For Me, and 18. The man has also produced the scores for some of my favorite movies including (but not limited to) Heat and Southland Tales. To summarize: I am a fan.

In anticipation of his forthcoming album Destroyed, Moby has released a three song EP featuring three of the tracks from the album itself. Moby describes the new album (and by relation, these tracks) as “broken down melodic electronic music for empty cities at 2 a.m.” In my opinion, a pretty accurate description. Either way, they are excellent, and FREE. Use the download widget below the streams to snag the EP. Enter your email address and you’ll recieve the download link in your inbox.

Destroyed is slated for release mid-May and will be accompanied by the release of a book of photos shot by Moby himself. Apparently photography has long been a hobby of his. It makes sense; go take a look at his album covers over the last 18 years.

This was just a little too hilarious to resist. The Five One, a group known for their unconventional style, took Wiz Khalifa’s lyrics from “Never Been” and transformed them into a laid back track that could almost be described as lounge music. It’s very difficult to describe, so just listen, laugh, and download.
