The Soundmen are back with their first production of 2011 remixing Dev’s hit single “Bass Down Low”. They took the bass heavy single and gave it a pop twist inspired by a “little bit of Afrojak, a pinch of Devo, and some Haddaway.” You will probably won’t even recognize the song at first play given the stark difference between the original beat and this one. Monster drums and some big synth make this track meant for play at a high volume accompanied by lots of dancing. Give it a go.

It’s been a few months since we’ve heard a new original Silver Medallion track and I’ve been craving some new stuff from them. Oren just released this dope new track titled “Silver Screen” in honor of his trip to the Sundance Film Festival. The track is produced by M. Rell, the same guy who produced their single “Gravity” (watch the music video for it here). As you might expect, the track is a killer mix of hip hop, pop and electronic, what Silver Medallion calls Hero-Pop. It might make you think your life is really like a movie or you can at least pretend it is like one. This single was released alongside a brand new DJ mix titled All Glam & No Ham, which you can get at Silver Medallion new blog Slave to the City.

I have to say, this song compensates for what “Roll Up” lacked. I never got around to posting the vid for this little doozy two days ago, so I’ll do it here. The track is dope, Wiz flows over a more conventional bass-y beat; definitely nothing like the pop-ish “Roll Up from yesterday. Rolling Papers will drop March 29.

Sorry for the brevity, but I gotta go get on another level myself, longgg day.

Sorry about the lack of posts today, it’s been a busy one for all our authors. Hopefully this will tide you over. Wiz Khalifa just dropped the second single off of his upcoming album Rolling Papers, due out March 29th.

I have never really heard Wiz rap on beat like this, it doesn’t really seem like his style. When I heard the title “Roll Up”, I thought it would be related to pot, and not to “Rolling Up” in a car (which is what I gathered from the song). So, the content was a little odd to me too. I’m interested to see how his album turns out, because it seems like Wiz’s style is changing a bit from his Deal or No Deal and Kush and Orange Juice days. On that note, I’m gonna do a post on some Deal or No Deal highlights soon because no one seems to know about it and I’m starting to get all nostalgic and sh**.

We have previously featured “Outside the Lines (Uptown)” and the song has grown on me ever since. It is feel good track that reminds me of the summer even when there is a huge blizzard outside. DJ Bizzy took a liking to the song and created a dope DJ intro edit for it. He said that he has lived his life “outside the lines” ever since kindergarten and was gravitated to the track because of it. Check it out and follow DJ Bizzy on Twitter @DjBizzyLA.

Big things are happening for Smokey Robotic. “Outside the Lines (Uptown)” will be their first single off of their upcoming EP. The music video for which is set to be released in the very near future. Expect to be fully introduced to the one and only Smokey Robotic. Be sure to like Smokey Robotic on Facebook to stay updated on all things Smokey.

i SQUARE’s sound is a convergence of hip hop, pop, R&B and electronic, which has become something of a trend in the past year. They recently debuted their single “Hey Sexy Lady” last October and it is still holding strong on the Billboard Dance/Club Play charts since its release in October. The song definitely sounds like a European electronic pop single, which just comes to show how much the European music scene has been impacting the United States music scene as of late.

In other news, i SQUARE’s “Hey Sexy Lady” used to sound like a European electronic pop single, well it did until Skrillex got his hands on it. He turned the song into a beat heavy, dubstep banger that will either blow your speakers out or have you vibing so hard that you strain a muscle. Even better, i SQUARE created an official video remix that combines clips from the original music video and the behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot. This track is off of the Hey Sexy Lady Remixes EP, which features four other remixes by Afrojack, Laidback Luke, and more. You can get it now on iTunes. Watch the video remix below.

I can’t really say I am a fan of Soulja Boy. Nevertheless, I do consider myself a fan of FAMUEL’s remixes ever since I heard his epic remix of Lil Wayne & Birdman’s “Stuntin Like My Daddy” and if he remixed Soulja Boy, I bet it will be dope. Sure enough, his remix blows the original out of the water. Say goodbye to the simple “Dem Franchize Boyz” sounding beat and say hello to this electro beat that will have you dance yelling “Pretty. Boy. SWAG!”

Zonoscope may have already leaked, but that doesn’t mean Cut Copy isn’t still releasing singles for your listening pleasure as if it hadn’t.

The album is still set for a February 8th release. You can bet a pretty penny we’ll have a review of it here.

Hey guys this is my first post let me know what you think! This is yet another instant classic remix of the Crystal Castles song ‘Empathy”. AudioDax is a duo from DePauw University with an electronic hip-hop vibe. After their recent drop of the mixtape The Annexation, they came out with this killer remix. This song is complete with solid rap from Krypton Flo and chill breakdown towards the end of the song from Temble. I have been listening to these guys for a while and if you are a fan like I am of “Wasting Time” you will love this track. Enjoy.

It’s sadly been a bit since I’ve posted pure rap. When I came across this tonight I had no choice. This track is heavy as f*** and pretty much coerced me into making a post about it.

Pac Div, short for Pacific Division, is a trio out of Southern Cali signed with Universal Motown Records. They’ve been around since 2006, but this is the first I’ve heard from them. That’s not to say they don’t have some great stuff already out…. I just downloaded their old mixtape, Don’t Mention It to hear a little bit more (you can grab that for free at their website too). Their next mixtape, Mania is set to drop in the next couple of months, so keep an eye out for that.
